Cosby Judge Declares Mistrial as Jury Deadlocks Again

After more than 50 hours of deliberation, the jury of five women and seven men has deadlocked in Bill Cosby's trial for aggravated indecent assault, resulting in a mistrial.

How do I describe the judge? "I'm sorry it's causing everyone frustration".

Bill Cosby arrives for his sexual assault trial at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, Pa., Saturday, June 17, 2017.

O'Neill grew testy on the bench as he questioned McMonagle's requests to end the trial without a verdict. The jury spoke with the judge, explaining that they were unable to come to a decision. "Everyone is assuming one way or another", said O'Neill. None of the jurors commented after the trial ended and headed home to the Pittsburgh area, some 300 miles (480 kilometers) from the courthouse outside Philadelphia.

Cosby, 79, once one of the country's most beloved entertainers, is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his home near Philadelphia in 2004.

Simpson's defense team made the correct decision in not letting him expose himself on the witness stand, and Cosby's team, similarly, made the right choice.

"And for all those attorneys who conspired, like Gloria Allred, tell them to go back to law school and take another class", Cosby's publicist said. Goldie Taylor, editor-at-large with The Daily Beast, thanks so much. Their honest work, individually.

Other Cosby supporters who stood in a drenching rain shouted, "Happy Father's Day, Bill" and "There's no evidence, you must acquit".

Yes. If he had been convicted, prosecutors say Cosby would have had to register as a sex offender and face an assessment to determine whether he was a sexually violent predator. In total, Cosby has been accused of sexual misconduct by almost 60 women.

A sliver of Gianna Constand's testimony that the jury had just heard. Cosby then allegedly proceeded to assault her while she was incapacitated.

The testimony is relevant because Cosby is charged with giving pills to Constand, former director of operations for the Temple women's basketball team, to incapacitate her before their sexual encounter.

He also said he gave Constand three half-tablets of the cold and allergy medicine Benadryl before the "petting" began.

Constand is the only one of Cosby's accusers to have her day in criminal court. Cosby's account of what happened between him and Constand was presented to the jury through his 2005 civil deposition and the interview he gave to the investigating police officers.

At least three of Bill Cosby's 60 accusers reacted Saturday in the immediate aftermath of the comedian's mistrial in his sexual assault trial. The jurors have been trying to break a deadlock.

"It is time to rape and violence to stop so that healing can start", Allison said. The jury got the case on Monday evening.

Prosecutors have already stated they will retry the case, and Judge Steve T. O'Neill indicated he would try to schedule a new trial within 120 days.
