Angry Trump decries being target of Russian Federation probe

President Donald Trump complained on social media about the wide-ranging investigation of Russian interference in the USA election as Robert Mueller appeared to widen his probe to include whether Trump tried to obstruct justice. He has also referred to the Russian Federation investigation itself as a "witch hunt".

The latest White House crisis struck on the evening of Trump s 71st birthday, after a day in which he had won plaudits for his handling of the shooting of Republican Congressman Steve Scalise.

Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, also has retained an attorney to represent him. Cohen has worked for Trump since the mid-2000s and was active in the campaign.
