Despite his alleged misbehaviour, he was finally allowed to board the same flight.
The Indigo airlines approached the Federation of Indian Airlines (FIA) to ban Reddy from Jet Airways, Go Airlines, Spicejet and other members of the FIA. Air India also barred the MP from boarding its flight. He had broken computers and abused Air India staff at Gannavaram airport in October previous year. He faced a ban on flying that was subsequently relaxed.
Inquiries revealed that Union civil aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju, who was also in the airport at the same time, ensured that the issue did not take a serious turn. But he reached just 28 minutes before the scheduled departure, according to the airline. The lawmaker is also accused of damaging a printer used by officials at IndiGo's check-in counter to print boarding passes.
Sources said Reddy insisted on being given a boarding pass despite the airline staff explaining him that the counters had been closed.
"Staggering" civilian deaths from US-led air strikes in Raqqa Syria
The US military has said it is aware of the reports of higher casualty figures in Mansoura and is investigating. IS seized Raqa in 2014, transforming it into the de facto Syrian capital of its self-declared " caliphate ".
The video footage obtained from the closed circuit cameras installed in the airport showed Reddy arguing agitatedly with the airlines staff who were trying to convince him about the closure of boarding hours.
IndiGo Airlines has barred Mr. Diwakar Reddy from boarding its flights.
On March 23, the Air India registered two FIRs against Gaikwad for hitting an Air India staffer with his slipper over sitting issue and for forcibly holding the flight and delaying it for 40 minutes. "Safety and security of passengers, crew and the aircraft is the top priority and it can not be compromised".
"We have banned him (TDP MP Mr. Reddy) from our flights", said an IndiGo spokesperson. Raju is said to be present at the Vizag airport when the incident took place, but he apparently ignored Reddy's request for help.
However, Reddy earlier rebuffed the charges of him creating ruckus at the Visakhapatnam airport and said he did not misbehave with any official of Indigo. The government is expected to finalise these rules shortly.
